From Capture to Final Image

Photo Retouching

Here’s where the magic happens. Skin is refined, color is balanced, distractions disappear, and the strongest parts of the photograph come forward. Some images need a light touch. Others need a full transformation. The result should feel polished, intentional, and completely believable.

Photo Retouching

Exotic Dancer and Aspiring Model, Deborah

Deborah was comfortable in front of the camera and had a natural aptitude for modeling. Because of her fair skin tone, the lighting had to be handled carefully to avoid blown highlights. Post-production retouching restored natural color while removing distracting blemishes.

What Was Done

  • The shadows were lightened in Adobe Photoshop , so as to reveal the hidden detail.
  • To create natural, healthy-looking skin tones, various color samples were made of the subject's skin. The airbrush tool was used to smoothen uneven skin tone.
  • The healing-brush tool was then used to remove skin blemishes.
  • The brightness-contrast and exposure levels were adjusted to reintroduce some of the natural light fall against the skin.
  • The color balance was adjusted so that her skin tone would look less yellow from the tungsten lights, and give a warmer, more natural, pink-red hue.
