JOSH SCHAFFER – German-Irish-Mexican Model
Great Model! I enjoyed shooting him as he was one of those half-crazy, artistic types! Very expressive! In retouching his photos, I wanted to keep as much detail and natural looking skin texture, from the original photos as possible... Especially the imperfections, as these added to his persona, as a hiking, adventure-seeker and wild grunge musician. However, with this photo, I did experiment with varied color, photo-retouching styles.

WHAT WAS DONE:
- 1. The shadows were lightened in Adobe Photoshop, so as to reveal the hidden detail.
- 2. To soften the shadows, yet maintain a hard, rugged exterior, the touch-up tool in PortraitProfessional was used, in conjunction with applying a 50% opaque, airbrushed, natural skin tone layer in Adobe Photoshop.
- 3.The colored photo was duplicated, and then converted to black and white.
- 4.The black and white photo was duplicated, and then colorized, using a gradient color overlay.
