Case Study:
SIA CWS Summit Europe
Designing for a Global Stage.
Conference Branding for an Executive Audience.
Designing for an international conference means designing for audiences with different cultures, expectations, and business perspectives. Every visual decision has to feel credible across borders while still creating a unified event identity. The CWS Summit Europe is the largest conference of its kind for contingent workforce management professionals and buyers of contingent labor across Europe and beyond. It draws professionals and experts from global organizations, large enterprises, and leading businesses, all focused on evolving their contingent workforce strategies in an environment built for peer-level connection and forward-looking discussion.
This is a sophisticated, internationally minded audience operating at the senior levels of some of the world's most complex organizations. The visual identity needed to communicate that same level of credibility and professionalism across every interaction, from the first impression to the final conference experience.
Employer
Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) is the global authority on staffing and workforce solutions. Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Mountain View, California, with offices in London, SIA serves both suppliers and buyers through proprietary research, data, training, accreditation, and executive conferences. The CWS Summit Europe is one of SIA's flagship annual events, bringing together the contingent workforce management community at the highest professional level.
My Role
Role: Graphic Design Manager & Digital Designer
As Graphic Design Manager at SIA, I was responsible for conceiving and building the full visual identity for the CWS Summit Europe. The conference color system used cobalt blue with yellow accents, within SIA's established brand framework. The visual identity for this event was anchored in location, drawing on the character of the London Financial District to give the conference a distinct sense of place that resonated with its international European audience.
The Design Approach
Location-based conference design requires more than finding a good photograph of a city. The visual language has to carry the conference identity across every format, from the hero image on the conference website to the vertical format of an Instagram Story, without losing coherence or looking like a tourism brochure. The London Financial District became more than a background image. It became the visual system that unified every conference touchpoint, allowing the identity to scale naturally from large-format signage to social media and motion graphics while maintaining a consistent professional presence.
The full marketing package covered:
Hero Image: London Financial District Concept.
London's financial district was chosen because it immediately communicates: Business, finance, global commerce and sophistication, as well as geographic location

What This Work Demonstrates
Designing for Global Audiences
The CWS Summit Europe serves a genuinely global audience of senior contingent workforce professionals from across Europe and beyond. Designing for that community, within an established global brand, required creating a visual identity that communicated professionalism and credibility across markets and cultures.
Location-Based Visual Identity
Building a conference identity around a specific location means creating more than a memorable hero image. The London Financial District became the visual thread that unified the conference across digital, print, presentations, motion graphics, and the on-site experience, giving every audience interaction a consistent sense of place.
Multi-Platform Campaign Design
The animated Instagram Stories for this conference represent a layer of digital engagement beyond static design. Short-form motion content built to drive pre-conference awareness on social media requires a different kind of visual thinking than print or web, and adds measurable value to the conference marketing package as a whole.
The Impact
The CWS Summit Europe marketing package gave SIA's flagship European conference a complete, cohesive visual presence across every channel where the audience encountered it: the conference website, social media, email, presentations, and on-site signage. The London Financial District concept gave the event a strong sense of place without reducing it to a travel image. It communicated where the conference was happening and, implicitly, the caliber of the people gathering there.
By anchoring the conference identity in London's financial district, the design immediately connected the event to one of the world's leading business centers. The visual identity appeared across the website, social media, presentations, signage, and conference materials, creating a cohesive experience long before attendees walked through the doors.
