HERE IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS!

PAVATI - East Indian Student

Client was somewhat shy. But when made to feel comfortable and laugh, she gave some interesting, culture-inspired, Indian poses. However, with her fair skin tone, she had to be carefully lighted, so that her natural color would not be blown out or made to look too yellow. Post-production photo-retouching was done to add a touch of warmer red color to her skin, as well as to remove skin blemishes.

WHAT WAS DONE:
  • 1. The shadows were lightened in Adobe Photoshop, so as to reveal the hidden detail.
  • 2. To create natural, healthy-looking skin tones, various color samples were made of the subject's skin. The airbrush tool was used to smoothen uneven skin tone.
  • 3. The healing-brush tool was then used to remove skin blemishes.
  • 4. The brightness-contrast and exposure levels were adjusted to reintroduce some of the natural light fall against the skin.
  • 5. The color balance was adjusted so that her skin tone would look less yellow from the tungsten lights, and give a warmer, more natural, pink-red hue.
